Getting Married at St Michael'sAt St Michael’s Aston Clinton we welcome enquiries about weddings.
Why get married in Church?
A marriage service, wherever it is held is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner. If you choose to get married in church, there is an added dimension – the assurance that God cares about your relationship and that his resources and strength are available to help you.
So can I get married at St Michael and All Angels, Aston Clinton?
If you would like to, we will do everything we can to enable you to get married in this church.
Here’s how it works:
You have a legal right to marry in a Church of England parish church where you or your fiancé(e) lives.
If you don’t live in Aston Clinton you will need to establish a connection with the church. That means one of you:
· has lived in the village for at least six months
· was baptised at St Michael’s
· has attended worship in the church for six months
· has a parent or a grandparent who has a connection with the parish
Even if you can’t demonstrate any of the connections above, we want to help you explore whether it is possible for you to get married at St Michael’s Church and so you should get in touch with Elizabeth, the Rector.
What will it cost?
For 2010 the fee is £455 which includes the minister, service, banns, organist and administration.
The optional extras are:
Choir £100,
Bells £150
Flowers £75
Heating (if you need it), £30
